HOW TO APPLY

ELIGIBILITY
Bloomingdale's classrooms accept children between the ages of two-and-nine-months and three-and-nine months as of September 1. To be eligible, family income must fall within federal guidelines. Ten percent of our families may be above these income guidelines.

We welcome children with special needs and children in foster care. We give preference to former parents, to single-parent families, and to families in stress. Some families are referred to us by ACS Protection/Prevention Services. We offer priority placement to families from other countries.

HOW TO APPLY
Come in
Bring your child to any of our three sites, from Monday through Thursday, between 9 AM and 3 PM.

Registration
You will need the following documents to register your child:
  • Child's Birth Certificate
  • Social Security cards for all family members in the household (if applicable)
  • Your child's Immunization Card
  • Health Insurance for all members of the family
  • Proof of Income (Budget letter or four pay stubs or latest tax return)
  • Welfare I.D.
  • School schedule, if you are attending college.
Bloomingdale Enrollment
Families are notified in June about September enrollment. Children may be enrolled until May in any given year if space is available. Once your child is accepted into the program, staff will contact you to provide information and answer your questions.

Placement
Children will be placed in half-day, full day or extended day classrooms based on the need and circumstances of each family. Bloomingdale

Family Partnership
Beginning with your child's enrollment in the program, your family becomes part of our extended Bloomingdale family. Family Partnership brings teachers, staff and parents together in a relationship of mutual respect and trust. We will work together to provide the best possible program for your child. We will invite you to become involved in Parent Committees, take part in parent workshops, and contribute your skills and ideas to the program. We will help you obtain services and educational and job opportunities. Our partnership continues after your child has graduated from the program. Whether to ask for support or just to stay in touch, alumni parents and children are always part of the Bloomingdale family.
