THE BLOOMINGDALE MISSION
The heart of the program is the child. From our Head Start classrooms for three- and four-year-olds we reach out to the entire family. Our mission is to provide rich educational experiences that enable our children to succeed in school and in all the areas of their lives after they leave us — healthy in body, in mind, and in their feelings.
Fifty years of service in upper Manhattan informs our work with families. We know that success for the child means involving parents in the educational process. We work with parents to strengthen them as advocates for their children, as policy makers, and as staff members, nurturing their aspirations as they grow toward independence and self-
sufficiency. |
